During the history of Czechia there have been a number of different ethnic groups who brought their place names to the Czech territory – e. g. Celts, Germans, Hungarians and Poles. Only the Polish minority has left today at small, easternmost region of Czech Silesia, who have the right to use their place names in public space in the municipalities, where they form at least 10% minority. It complies with European standards. Their implementation was neither easy nor short-lived. This paper presents this process and its results.
